All the boards tested in this shootout were tested first at their normal clock frequencies and then retested for stability with the FSB increased to 110MHz, which brings the CPU speed up to 2.2GHz. This is a minor but simple thing to accomplish increasing the CPU speed by 200MHz with only a simple alteration of the FSB. You will notice in the motherboard intro description a listing for default clock speed. The reasoning for this is that everyone of these boards had a different factory default setting for their CPU and all but the Gigabyte product had the boards pre-overclocked from the factory. These setting varied in degrees up to 37MHz as seen on the DFI board and which I feel is rather a tricky way to get performance gains in this manner.

Soltek and Asus take the lead on this test followed by DFI and ending with a tie by MSI and Gigabyte.

Here Soltek takes the lead closely followed by DFI and then almost identical scores are served up by Asus and Gigabyte and ending with MSI in the last place in this test.

Once again Soltek leads in this competition with MSI and Asus trailing and finally DFI in the last place position in this round of tests.

Soltek once again leads the pack with Asus in second and Gigabyte falling dead last. There is not a whole lot of difference here as the scores are only a few frame rates apart and that is really only a very marginal amount for this type of test.
