The drive itself is designed to fit in any 2.5” drive bay. The outer casing on the S592 drive is black. The top of the drive has the same information as found on the box in addition to the FCC and various features the drive supports. The bottom of the drive has four screw holes and four screws on it. This makes it easy to install the drive on a HDD rack that has the necessary holes to install a SSD drive from the bottom. The drive also has eight screw holes for installing the SSD drive into a HDD rack designed for 2.5” drives. ADATA’s drive is made out of plastic and is pretty sturdy.
The back of the drive has the SATA II connectors, a 7-pin and a 15-pin connector. The 7-pin connector is to connect the SATA Data cable. The 15-pin connector is to connect the SATA Power cable to the drive. All in all, the S592 is a solid looking product in terms of aesthetics to the average consumer. Recently, SATA 6 GB/s drives have hit the market but the support for these drives are not available as of yet.
