The HAWK Edition card has a clock speed of 875MHz for the core and 1.2GHz for the memory. This is 25MHz faster than the reference design for the core and the same clock speed as the reference design for the memory. The card has a compute rate of about 1.4 TeraFLOPs and an anti-aliasing pixel fill rate of 56 GigaSamples/second. The RADEON HD 5770 has a 128-bit GDDR5 memory interface. This offers a 2x bandwidth improvement over the same clocked GDDR3 memory. With a clock speed of 1.2GHz, doubled for DDR3 doubled again for GDDR5, this provides the HD 5770 card with a memory bandwidth of 76.8GB/second. ATI says this card draws 108W of power at full but 18W idle. MSI has several innovations brought with this card including: 7+1 Phase PWM design, MSI Afterburner, V-Check points, Hi-c Caps, Solid Capacitors, SSC, No Buzz and a Twin Frozr II Thermal Design. The HD5770 reference design has a 4 phase PWM design; the MSI HAWK doubles that with the 7+1 Phase PWM design giving more stable overclocking. The card comes with two leads out with a 2-pin connection. You connect the leads out to your multimeter and it reads the exact GPU and memory voltage values form the V-check points directly. MSI has adopted Military Class standard for their cards giving the highest stability and long life. MSI uses highly conducive capacitors using a rare metal, with extreme high conductivity, 15x less leakage that is used on space shuttles. The capacitors are also Solid meaning they won’t leak and last 10 years. The Solid State Chokes gives no buzz noise with a higher maximum current input and provides better protection against power surges. Twin Frozr II is MSI’s trademark for their cooling solution. They use two PWM fans that offer quiet operation and 50% better thermal efficiency and direct airflow to cool down the GPU, memory and power modules at the same time. They also include multiple heatpipes to dissipate heat. The heatsink is made out of aluminum and covers the entire PCB. The Juniper chip itself is contacted with a large nickel-plated copper base that provides the best heat dissipation. The copper base, heatsink and heatpipe are directly connected together to provide the best cooling. MSI has partnered with Rivatuner, a popular overclocking utility to provide MSI Afterburner with their new card. Rivatuner was developed by Guru3d.com and works with most video cards on the market today. MSI has released their version, the Afterburner software to work with most of their cards on the market. The utility provides overclocking (up to 15% boost and overvoltage), Clock/Voltage/Temperature/Fan Speed/Frame rate real-time monitoring with a realtime ODD, 5 Profiles for saving customized settings, profile hot-keys, advanced fan speed control, multi-GPU independent or synchronous control for clock/voltage/fan speed, information button, customized skin and apply overclocking setting at system setup Contents:
