One thing to keep in mind with the GeForce GT240 is the fact that this card is not meant for the high-end enthusiast, but for an upgrade to the integrated graphics found on Intel and AMD based motherboards. The gaming resolution of a $100 video card is not the same as the resolution you would use on a HD 5970 for instance. Batman Arkham Asylum is a PhysX supporting game with many features showing off the power of an NVIDIA graphics card. PhysX effects in the game include spider webs strewn through corridors, and realistic smoke that isn’t present on the non NVIDIA cards. Batman AA is playable up to and including 1280x1024 on the GeForce GT240 card from ECS. One of the first DirectX 10.1 games was Tom Clancy’s HAWX. The High Altitude Weapons eXperimental Squadron is set in the same “Clancyverse” as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and is a fun game. The DirectX 10.1 components of the game include improved performance compared to cards using the DirectX 10.0 featureset. The game plays well on the GeForce GT240 card with 1280x1024 completely playable.
