The Cooler Master CM Storm Sentinel Advance mouse is available in two colors black and grey. The particular model I’m reviewing today is the Black version. There are several key features including the OLED Profile management button on top of the mouse. Touch the button and the profile changes to the next one. There are four profiles available.

One cool thing that many professional gamers have is a logo or gamer tag. You can use the OLED Profile management screen to display that customized logo. The OctoShade LED Technology allows you to customize the color of your profile on the LED. You have the choice of 7 available colors to recognize your current profile by assigning your profile a mouse lighting color.

Theft of computer mice and keyboards is an annoying thing at LAN Parties. Cooler Master has come up with a Storm Guard security system for safeguarding the keyboard and mouse and other peripherals. The Storm Guard is a PCI Slot cover that you do the wiring in and around the teeth of the cover before installing it in a free PCI slot. To remove the Storm Guard you need to remove the PCI slot cover.

The Sentinel-X processor onboard the mouse stores the mouse settings and stores up to 5 different game profiles to the onboard memory. The Sentinel Advance mouse has 64KB of memory for this express purpose, meaning you can program your profile on a certain game and play the game using that profile on buttons without installing any software. The Sentinel Advance has a twin laser engine which pin-point the surface through a Doppler Effect process.

One thing about mice is that different people will be comfortable with different weights of the mice. The Sentinel Advance mouse has the ability to install up to 5 2.5g weights to the mouse, meaning that the weight can be up to 12.5g more than the default mouse. The mouse also supports the Storm Tactics Macro to allow repetitive tasks to be recorded, replayed and scheduled on your keyboard and mouse actions. The Sentinel Advance mouse is designed for the ultimate gamer wanting the most customization options.
