Starting from the front of the case we find that SilverStone has removed the front cover that was found on the RV01 case and replaced it with a faceted design with the covers for the external 5.25” drive bays forming a wedge-shaped front. There are 8 covers, which allow the end user to install up to 8 5.25” drives assuming no HDD is installed in the HDD rack. The top of the case has the Front Panel I/O. The Raven 2 has two USB 2.0 ports, an Audio jack and a Microphone jack. The Power button is on the right side of the top with the reset button on the left. One nice thing about the Reset button is the large size of the button, meaning that you won’t miss it. Behind the FP I/O is a grilled top that comes off to install the monitor cable. The motherboard is installed on the vertical position on this case. What this means is the rear panel I/O and expansion ports for the motherboard are on top of the case. To remove the grilled cover simply pulls from the rear upwards revealing the 120mm fan, the Rear I/O area and the PSU area. The cables are fed through the back of the case The right side of the case is blank with no window. This is the side of the case where the back of the motherboard is installed instead of the back of the case where most cases have the motherboard tray. The left side of the case has a window which is positioned on the right, instead of the left position on the RV01. The back of the case is interesting as the normal I/O ports, the expansion slots and the PSU are not installed in this position but on the top of the case. There are three fan controllers to the left of the 120mm top fan that control the three 120mm fans in the case.
