GIGABYTE has put their HD 5850 into a black box with a robot looking device on the cover. The front cover has the Compatible with Windows 7 logo, the ATI RADEON Premium Graphics logo, a logo showing that the card is DisplayPort ready, and the name of the card. The back of the box has the features explained including some screenshots showing off Tessellation and Eyefinity.
Opening the box we find that GIGABYTE has packaged the card inside a foam tray cut out so the card will not be damaged in shipping. Atop the cover is the User Manual and Driver CD. A compartment above the card is where the accessories for the card are stored. GIGABYTE has included a DVI to D-Sub adapter to allow users of analog CRT monitors to use the card without purchasing an adapter.

Drivers
ATI releases new drivers at least once a month. Their latest card release the HD 5xxx series had them release a specific driver for the new cards including the HD 5870/5850/5770/5750 cards. For purposes of all HD 5xxx reviews I’ve used the HD 5800 drivers off their website as that is the recommended driver for these cards. ATI will likely soon release newer drivers and I would always suggest using the latest ones off their website as OEMs tend to rebrand ATI drivers as their own. GIGABYTE offers a 3-year Limited Warranty on their video cards.
