The first game I tried on the GIGABYTE GT220 was Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 5 is the latest entry in the series from Capcom. The game features Chris Redfield facing a bunch of enemies. The game played ok on the GT220 with 1280x1024 almost completely playable with frame rates around 30fps most of the game. The GT210 with ¼ of the memory bandwidth, on the other hand, had playable frame rates at 1024x768.

Batman Arkham Asylum is one of the games that supports PhysX as well as the Unreal Engine. The game played well on the GT220 1GB card with decent frame rates in the 1280x1024 resolution. PhysX is playable when 1024x768 is enabled due to the frame rate hit associated with PhysX, the game is one of those must-haves for PhysX effects as the wall splinters when a thug hits it and the game is much more enjoyable with it enabled.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX was one of the first games to support DirectX 10.1 features. The game features support for Ambient Occlusion which is a key feature of DX 10.1 and runs a little faster on the GT220 with DX10.1 enabled in the game. Playable frame rates were observed in the game at 1280x1024 resolutions with 1920x1200 resolutions also playable in most areas. The GT210 seems to hit the memory wall with performance in the single digits in the game.
