XFX bundles their HD 5850 in a black box with the Radeon HD 5850 in the center of the front. There is a stylized X on the front along with XFX’s 5-Star support, Dirt 2 coupon and 1GB on the front. The rear of the box has the Key features of the card and a description of the features listed. The bottom of the box has the System Requirements and What’s in the Box. Opening the box we find that XFX has placed the card and accessories inside another interior box. The Driver CD the manuals and the Dirt 2 voucher are on the right side of a tray. The left side of the tray has a box containing the video card accessories including the 6 to 4 pin Power adapter, the DVI to VGA adapter, and the Crossfire bridge. XFX has 5-Star support for their video cards and the HD 5850 card is part of the program. This offers downloads to the best performing drivers, product specific help guides, message boards, Live Help for the product XFX offers great support for their card. They also offer a Double Lifetime Guarantee which gives both you and a second owner a limited Lifetime warranty against material defects. Using ATI’s OverDrive utility in the drivers I was able to overclock the HD 5850 to 765MHz for the core and 1115MHz for the memory 100% stably. This is an overclock of 65MHz for the Core and 115MHz for the memory. The HD 5850 from XFX showed temperatures of 29C on the default clock speeds and 37C when overclocked, meaning that the temperatures of the card are very low compared to the last generation a benefit of the 40nm process.
