GIGABYTE shipped their GV-N260SO-896I in a black box with the GIGABYTGE logo on the top left hand corner. Much like the card cooler, the Super Overclock logo is under the GIGABYTE logo along with the slogan TOP Performance, Insane Speed, and Best Components. The rear of the box has the main features explanations. Opening the box we find that GIGABYTE has provided the end-user with enough hardware to fully utilize their new video card. There is a DVI to HDMI adapter if you need another HDMI port, a DVI to VGA adapter for analog monitors, two 6-pin power connectors for the system whose PSU doesn’t have enough connections, and a User’s Guide. NVIDIA drivers are updated once a month, much like ATI drivers. The latest release is Forceware 190.68. With the release of the ATI HD 5870 card it is likely NVIDIA has some improved performance drivers to release in the near future. I always suggest using the latest drivers from NVIDIA as the drivers GIGABYTE and other manufacturers release are based upon the reference build and sometimes takes a while to post. So what benefits does the Super Overclocked GTX 260 have with the GPU Gauntlet, and the overclocking out of the box. Using NVTweak I was able to overclock the card above 700MHz. As the card is already overclocked over 100MHz this is not a bad thing. The card is silent, with almost no noticeable noise when in operation. Contents:
