The first game I played with the new ASUS Matrix GTX285/HTDI/1GD3/A card was Darkest of Days. This game uses the Unreal Engine for its graphics engine. The game uses DirectX 9.0 graphics to tell a time-traveling story where you try and set history right again. Darkest of Days plays excellent on the GTX285 with frame rates averaging 90+ fps even at 1920x1200 4x AA 16x AF with Very High Details set.
Batman is in the news a lot lately with The Dark Knight featuring Christian Bale as the Batman and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. The latest game from Eidos, the makers of Tomb Raider sets Batman against the Joker in Arkham Asylum, the insane asylum in Gotham City, the home of the Batman. This game also uses the PhysX engine for destructible environments. The game was completely playable on the GTX 285.
Left 4 Dead is one of those games that you either love or hate. L4D was released last year as a survival horror game in the mode of Resident Evil. You play as one of four survivors in the game in a city full of infected humans. You battle enemies such as the Hunter, or the Witch each having its own personality and hordes of zombie like creatures. The game plays completely playable on the GTX 285 with high frame rates even at 1920x1200 4x AA 16x AF.
