Sapphire has taken an already powerful card in the HD 4870 and overclocked it. The resulting card is nothing less than superb with the extra cooling that the Vapor-X offers I was able to overclock the card to 810MHz for the core and 1100MHz for the memory. Card temperatures reached 72C when under stress and running overclocked but that is not much of a jump from the 65C that the card would exhibit when idle. Turning up the Fan Speed allowed me to run the card overclocked 100% of the time. Microsoft is going to release Windows 7 soon and DirectX 11 with it. It should be interesting to see how this card fares against the first DX11 cards from ATI in upcoming months. This card is a very close runner up candidate for and Editors Choice and a few months back it would have won hands down, however the 4870 is starting to show its age as newer faster cards have been released.
