Cooler Master Sileo 500 Case Review Noise reduction padding

Noise reduction padding

Upon taking the side panels off the Sileo 500, the first thing you’ll notice is the padding on the left side door. The padding reduces sound in the case and covers nearly the entire panel. The motherboard tray is not removable so you’ll have to align the holes with the motherboard before installing the standoffs. The case is plenty deep to install long video cards like the GeForce GTX 295 card.

The top and bottom of the case interior also has the padding for silent operation. There are five drive bays for 5.25" drives, each bay has a tool less installation. Simply remove the front cover, slide the drive into the bay and slide the lock over to lock it into place. Below the 5.25" drive bays are two 3.5" drive bays for the FP IO bay and the FDD.

Below the 3.5 exterior drive bays is a HDD rack with space for three 3.5" hard disks. Cooler Master includes vibration-free drive rails to install hard disks reducing sound further. The HDD cage area has room for a 120mm fan for proper cooling of the HDDs. Overall while the interior may not have the cooling options of some other cases the noise reduction padding makes up for it. One nice inclusion was a PSU. Cooler Master includes a 500W PSU
