Cooler Master HAF 922 Case Review :: Exterior
The case comes in a nice black color. The front of the case has a faceted design with five 5.25" drive bays. The front of each bay door has a mesh bezel improving airflow and giving a great look. The Cooler Master Logo is on the bottom area of the front where the 200mm front fan is installed. The right side of the case has a solid door with a bulge. The left side of the case has a similar bulge with a mesh window. You can mount a 200mm fan on the mesh window, giving proper side cooling. The top of the case has the Power, Reset and Fan LED buttons. The FAN LED button turns on/off the light to the front fan. There are also the standard Power and HDD LEDs to show activity on the system. There is also room for a 200mm or two 120mm fans on top. The Front Panel IO is located on top of the upper 5.25" drive bay. It consists of 2 USB 2.0 ports, an external SATA port, the MIC jack, and the Headphone jack for the FP audio. The rear of the case has two holes for water cooling if you wish. There are 7 PCI expansion slots on the rear. For those that want to install a Storm Guard (when it becomes available for individual sale) or an external SATA bracket. The bottom of the case has the PSU mounting area. In front of that are mounting holes for a 120mm or 140mm bottom fan. There are also holes on the bottom to let the PSU breathe. One thing about this is that the feet on the case are rather short. A tall carpet will not allow proper air flow. Cooler Master includes non-slip pads to cover the case feet, allowing the case to be steady on a desk.
