AMD Phenom II X3 710 Review

AMD has trailed Intel in the process race and performance on the processor side of things for over a year since the release of the Intel Core 2 series of CPUs (Central Processing Units). They were on the 65 nanometer process node for their processors until very recently with the release of the AMD Phenom II which is their first 45 nanometer process CPU family.

When Intel released their Core i7 platform a few short months ago they redefined features and performance with triple channel memory, a new Socket interface and the movement of the memory controller to the processor instead of on the Southbridge. AMD's move to the 45 nanometer process and a new platform has increased the L3 cache and increased the clock speed improving performance. Today I'm reviewing AMD's new AM3 CPU, the AMD Phenom II 710 which is the second fastest AM3 triple core CPU on the market today at 2.6GHz.
