CoolerMaster decided to include a removable motherboard tray with the ATCS 840 case. There are tiny ball bearings on the guide rails which makes sliding the motherboard tray in or out of the case very easy to do. The removable motherboard tray is an excellent feature of a high end case especially if you want to install the motherboard and add-on cards without being cramped inside of the case. I've already mentioned the top and bottom PSU locations but felt that something more should be written. First there is a mesh covering a 120mm fan mount where the bottom PSU is. The second thing is that is long enough to install the longer PSUs on the market today. The top PSU area requires the removal of the top fans to install a PSU in the top area of the case. The case has 6 HDD bays facing perpendicular to the 5.25" drive bays. Opening the HDD racks is a simple matter of flipping open the front covers. The front of the HDD rack has a 230mm fan which is used to cool the HDDs. There are two 120mm fan mounts on the other side of the HDD rack for those that want to install even more cooling on the HDD area both front and back. The rear of the motherboard tray has holes for proper cable management. The case is excellent for those wanting a neat wire management system as all of the cables and wires can fit through the hole behind the motherboard. There is a 120mnm fan in the usual position. Note that this means the case has up to 7 internal fans plus the fan on the external duct making a total of 8 possible fans.
