Being a Full-Tower ATX case, the CoolerMaster stands 22.83 inches tall which is typical of a Full-Tower ATX case. The case can handle Extended ATX, micro ATX and Standard ATX motherboards with ease. The case is available in two colors, Silver and Black which are the colors of the Oakland Raiders. Cooler Master sent the Black color version. Starting from the front of the case the ATCS 840 has six 5.25" external drive bays for the optical drives on the case. There is a 3.5" drive bay adapter on the bottom 5.25" drive bay to allow the user to install a floppy drive. The Cooler Master logo is located below the external drive bays where the HDD drive bays would be located. The Front Panel IO area of the case consists of a little pop-up bay with four USB 2.0 ports, an external SATA port, a Firewire port and the Headphone and Microphone jacks for audio. This goes above and beyond the normal IO found on most cases. The Power and Reset buttons are located below the popup bay, with HDD activity and Power Activity LEDs in between the buttons. Behind the bay is a great feature for the cooling system of the case, two 230mm fans under a grilled cover. The cover is easily removed by sliding out the grill from the back of the case after removing two thumb screws from the rear. Each 230mm fan is held into place by four screws and can be removed if you want to install a different fan or if you want to install the PSU on the top of the case. CoolerMaster decided to do all-black side doors on the case. I would have preferred a mesh-window or a transparent window but understand the choice made here. The rear of the case has the standard IO area to put your back plate in. Next to that is a 120mm grill to install a 120mm fan. Below the IO area is 7 PCI slot openings. Below them is the bottom PSU area. The top of the rear has two holes for water-cooling tubes and the top PSU area.
