So with the release of the games on the Christmas season I decided to give a look at performance across five games with the XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition card and the nearest competition the ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB card. To round out the performance look I also have included performance compared with the Palit HD 4870 512MB Dual Sonic card and the EVGA GeForce GTX 280 card.
All games were tested with 4x AA and 16x AF on our standard video card test platform. All settings were set to the maximum that the game would allow with graphics options set in the in-game menu when possible. Far Cry's built-in benchmark utility was used for this game but a walkthrough was also performed which gave frame rates in the same neighborhood.
