In determining what video cards to test the 9800GTX+ Black Edition against, we decided to use the closest analog comparisons on the market, the HD 4850, a GTX280 and, a HD 4870 X2 to show the benefits of SLI versus single card solutions and a 9600GT. The GeForce 9800GTX+ Black cards are available online for about $189 (without the game), meaning it is good competition price-wise against the HD 4850. Two of them should provide good competition against a single GTX280 which retails for $429 as of this writing.
