SilverStone has taken the design innovation of the RV-01 and improved it with their Raven 2 case. The construction and installation of computer components in this case is easy and the case is fully featured. The Raven 2 does not have external SATA or Firewire on its FP I/O, but this is a small price to pay for an excellent case. This case is available online from Newegg for $189.99 making it a pricey but full featured case that has plenty of room for components and great cable management with the holes for the motherboard. The motherboard mounting is unique to Silverstone with a different... more.

SlimLine drives are not something everybody is looking for, but when its needed its good to have an idea of who and what to buy as either your buying your first drive or a replacement for a broken one. I had no problems with this drive whatdoever, I installed three different operating systems, office and many games and all without problem. The drive reads CDs and DVDs just fine and I encountered no combatibility issues with the SilverStone 8X +/- DVDRW. This is a fairly niche product, and that said it does have a market to appeal to and for those people this is a very viable item. Overall a... more.

For the target market of the AMD Socket AM3 CPU purchaser the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO doesn’t get much better than this as the board looks good, performs great and has the features you would want from a motherboard with integrated graphics. The price point on the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO is $99.99 on Newegg, making it competitive with the other 785 boards out there. You get the ASUS branding which is always worth something as they put a lot of quality parts and workmanship into their boards, and you get the features from ASUS including Turbo Key, EPU, Express Gate and more. Overall, this is a very... more.

Kingston is one of the strongest players in the memory game and since SSD and memory stick (Flash Drives) products are also memory based products Kingston has their hands firmly in the pie of this market. Kingston is a name associated with stability, and for years that was the mainstay of their business model. Later years found them diving into the overclocking game and now we see both their standard lines and their new Hyper X line of products for the enthusiast and overclocker market. Every ATI HD 5850 card on the market is exactly the same at the moment with differentiators being the Support and the bundle. GIGABYTE has a reference HD 5850 card that performs as well as any other HD 5850 card as the clock speeds and memory clock speeds are the same as the other cards on the market. ZipZoomFly sells this card for $269.99 which is the MSRP suggested by ATI for their HD 5850 cards and GIGABYTE. At the moment they are out of stock as is Newegg making this and the HD 5870 hard cards to get a hold of at the moment. This is still a very Hot Product for the consumer masses. This... more.

Two HD 5770 cards perform better than a single HD5850 card and two HD 5850 cards perform much better than a single HD 5770 card. Considering the price of the two HD 5770s is nearly the same as a HD 5870 card I would suggest buying a single HD 5870 or HD 5850 depending on which price range. On the other hand, if you only have $160 a HD 5770 added to the system later will improve performance immensely in most applications. Two HD 5750s in Crossfire mode make for an attractive upgrade as well if you only have $130 to spend on a video card today. This article can be found in our Reviews Vault.... more.

Phase Power and much more bring this board to one of the most feature-rich P55 motherboards on the market today. The inclusion of a external SATA kit with all the wires and cables needed adds additional value to the board. GIGABYTE is serious about the enthusiast crowd with a fully featured BIOS and lots of overclocking options that some other manufacturers can’t match. They offer a 3-year Warranty on the P55-UD6 board, with excellent support and great performance rounding out the board, giving this board an Editors Choice award. These are not gaming cards that is the first thing to get out of the way. If you are looking for a fast video card I would suggest looking elsewhere as these cards do not have the performance to run the latest and greatest games without some sacrifice in playability resolution or setting. On the other hand performance on the GT220 OC from Gigabyte was enough to play many games with some decent performance numbers at low resolutions and is a nice upgrade from the Intel integrated or AMD integrated graphics on their motherboards without spending too much money. The GT212 supports PhysX in games... more.

Each of the cards in the lineup has its own strengths and weaknesses. In terms of card design the five cards are all reference cards with none of them having higher core or memory clocks than the other similar cards in the lineup. XFX offers 5-Star Support on their video cards and a Double Lifetime Warranty. They also offer BattleForge which is a DirectX 10.1 game with some performance enhancements for DirectX 11 on their HD5770. Sapphire, on the other hand offers the game Dirt2 which is much like ATI’s HL2 in that many manufacturers are releasing cards with this game bundled. The ASUS card... more.

ATI has two products on their list which are game-changing in the fact that they will likely be the only DirectX 11 supporting video cards on the market until 2010 when the consumer version of the Fermi architecture announced by NVIDIA yesterday will be released. Until then, they have the highest performing chip in the HD 5870 and a very high performing chip in the form of the HD 5850 which costs $120 less than the HD 5870. XFX’s card is a reference design with the same performance and clock speeds of the other reference cards but you get their wonderful support and a copy of Dirt 2 when it... more.
