We used this case in a system build that yielded results on a few different products including the Tagan BZ series 1100W PSU and the CoolIt Eliminator to name a couple. Thrasher2 our onsite tech junkie once again tackled the task of assembling and getting the system up to our standard, and the Black Pearl system came out very nice as you can see from the pictures. Usually when we build a system using any decent liquid cooling unit, modifications have to made to the case to accommodate the pumps, radiators and fans associated with them, but the Tagan Black Pearl is so roomy that just about solution can be used, as is, out of box. It also has the appropriate pre-drilled holes for the tubes to be run through the case to an external radiator. Having no removable motherboard tray may be a negative to some people as it does make installation of the motherboard a bit easier in some installs, but we found it easy enough to work with as to pose no problems.

Installing the drives into the case was easy enough although not entirely tool-free as the drives need to be secured by using screws to mount the drives. We tore the case all the way down to its bare essentials prior to building the system, just to see how everything assembled and went together. As you can see from the pictures here and on page 2, everything comes apart very easily and is easy to reassemble as well. Nothing was so far out of reach as to daunt new users from using the Black Pearl; if you are even basically mechanically inclined you should be able to tackle building your system inside this case. Usually we go all-out and build a custom water cooled system, which this case is optimized for, but time limitations forced us to use something a bit simpler so we went with the CoolIt Eliminator as our CPU cooler in this particular build, and it worked out well. Air flow an essential importance of any build was very good with the Black Pearl with all the fans installed and running properly, it is also very noise free even though it has multiple fans circulating the air through the interior of the case. The quality of the cases material is undeniable, the Black Pearl is built of solid stuff and there were no sharp edges or rough corners anywhere on the case, inside or out.
