ASUS EAH3650 TOP 256MB Review :: ASUS EAH3650 Bundle
ASUS decided to save costs by not including a game bundle with their video card. As the targeted price point on the EAH3650 TOP card is very low in comparison to the high end cards the addition of a game would be nice but not detrimental to the card’s prospects. Adding a game adds costs in the form of a CD and licensing fees to ASUS.
HDMI monitors have become more and more popular as HDTVs with this interface have hit the market. ASUS decided to allow end-users to use HDMI devices on the HD3650 with the included HDMI-DVI adapter. The top Dual Link DVI port is colored yellow and is where the adapter needs to be installed. A DVI to VGA adapter allows the end-user to use a CRT monitor with this video card.
The driver CD contains the drivers off ASUS’s website based on a set made in November of 2007. I would suggest using the latest ATI drivers, which are currently the Catalyst 8.5s as the ASUS Driver CD drivers are at least 7 months old and ATI releases new drivers every month to fix issues and improve performance of the card in selected applications. ASUS also includes several of their utilities with this card. Their software includes their GamerOSD program which allows gamers to overclock their graphics card in the game to adjust the card clock speed. SmartDoctor monitors the graphics card and adjusts the speed of the card when it is idle. The last application is called VideoSecurity which is like a security camera in the home. Contents:
