The Black Edition comes overclocked out of the box to 700MHz for the core clock. The reference 9800GX2 has a core clock of 600MHz, so a 100MHz core increase is pretty darn good. The G92s on the 9800GX2 card each have 128 Stream Processors, making this card akin to two 9800GTX cards in a single PCB. The Shader clock is clocked 50MHz higher than the reference clock at 1.7GHz.

The memory clock is set to 2.1GHz, a 100MHz overclock over the standard clock rates for the 9800GX2. Each G92 is fed through a 256-bit memory bus meaning that the total memory bandwidth on the 9800GX2 card is 134.2GB/second, 67.1GB per card. The memory bandwidth is spread among two separate chips so each G92 chip has 512MB assigned to it.

There’s no need to rehash the features of the 9800GX2 as I’ve covered them in numerous G92 card reviews over the last year. I’ll cover it with the product specifications from XFX’s main website on the card as they are the ones making the card.
