XFX has done a wonderful job with the 9800GX2 Black Edition as it is the fastest available 9800GX2 on the market today at a clock speed of 700MHz for the core. The card plays every game on the market including Crysis in high settings and with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering fully enabled. The card is available online for a price of $599.99 from ZipZoomFly this card is not cheap.

The card is a bit of an anomaly in the middle of NVIDIA’s transition to the GeForce GT2xx family as that may offer higher performance and physics capabilities over the 9800GX2 but we’ll have to wait and see as that is not announced yet and it is possible that two 9800 chips in SLI may end up faster than one of the new chips. XFX in the meantime has outdone itself with a worthwhile video card for the high-end gamer and two of these cards will make any game run smoothly including Crysis. The inclusion of COD4 is a welcome bonus for those wanting a game to play with their shiny new card and the HDMI connector allows the use of HDMI monitors with this video card.
