Western Digital VR150 300GB Velociraptor Review :: 600MB File Transfer

HDD tests are cool and all but in real world performance, the time it takes to transfer a large file is more important to me than what a HDD does in a perfect environment with an artificial test. To test file transfer speeds, I used a clock and transferred a 600MB file (SpecViewPerf 10) from one hard disk to another on a clean HDD. The Velociraptor was almost exactly twice as fast, taking 6 seconds to the almost 12 seconds that the WD Raptor took to transfer the same file.
