Sisoft Sandra has been around for a few years giving system specifications, benchmarks for the hard disk, memory, CPU, Multimedia and many other computer components. The Hard disk benchmark gives Read performance of the hard disk. The Velociraptor scored almost 100MB/second while the Raptor drive scored almost 60MB/second, giving a huge increase in performance between the two drives. The Random Access time is also displayed here with 7ms for the Velociraptor and the same for the Raptor 74GB drive.
