We used five tests to compare performance between the standard WD Raptor 74GB from the last generation to the new Velociraptor 300GB HDD. The tests are: HD Tach, PCMark Vantage HDD test, Sisoft Sandra X2 SP2 HDD benchmark, a file transfer test with a 600MB file (in this case SpecViewPerf) and the Average Seek time result from HD Tach. Each test has a purpose to show performance values between the standard Raptor and the new Velociraptor.
