To show performance, I decided to use the ASUS Maximus Formula motherboard on the test bench along with a 2.66GHz E6750 CPU from our standard Intel platform for comparison purposes. The increased L2 cache and higher clock speed should result in an across the board win for the E8500. The E6750 loses in every benchmark except for 3DMark05, and 06 where strangely, the E6750 beats it out a little. The E8500 beats the E6750 in every other benchmark, and comes close to the QX6600 in performance in the other benchmarks.
