Diamond Viper ATI HD 3850 PCIE 512MB GDDR3 Crossfire Review :: Diamond Viper HD3850 HD 512MB Bundle

  • Diamond Viper ATI Radeon™ HD 3850 Dual Slotted graphics card
  • 2 DVI to VGA converters
  • Component HDTV Adapter
  • 9-pin VIVO adapter
  • ATI DVI to HDMI adapter
  • CrossFire Bridge Interconnect

Diamond includes enough stuff to get the hardware up and running in every respect, but not a whole lot of software. The two DVI to VGA converters are nice but with virtually every monitor sold today being a flat panel LCD with DVI-I, this is a luxury. The Component HDTV Adapter, VIVO Adapter and DVI to HDMI adapters are included to round out the hardware bundle.

Bundle

Software-wise, there's one thing I miss from the old Diamond, game bundles. I remember taking home a Monster3D II with 3 of the latest games all supporting 3DFX Glide. Diamond wanted to give the enthusiast what they want in their cards, which is a overclocking monster and decided to forgo the games bundle. One thing about this card is that Diamond's website says it's called an overclocked card but it is clocked at the standard 668MHz for the core and 825MHz for the memory of the HD3850. The card should be correctly labeled as overclocking friendly as the card was able to hit 800MHz for the core and 965MHz for the memory on the standard cooling without crashing, a darn good overclock.
