Intel Skulltrail Platform Review :: Tests Systems and Software

We used a couple of different systems in this test round as nothing in the world is like this system so tradition to the wind we did not stick to an exact apples to apples comparison like usual. This time we used a variation on our theme and showed the Skull against two other high-end Intel platforms. Not every application or game even recognizes two CPUs so in some instances there will not be a great performance boost. In some instances the applications will thread 4 CPU cores, but not 8. There a few applications that do thread more than 4 CPUs and we will try and incorporate them into this review at a later date and announce the new test scores. We tested the Skull with both the new 3870 X2 and an SLI pair of our standard test cards the EVGA 8800GTS 320MB Edition cards and both ran without error or fail.
