Swiftech Apogee Ultimate Liquid Cooling Kit Review

If you want a liquid cooling system that is functional, flexible and able to be customized to whatever your needs may be, Swiftech is your kind of company. This system uses a self-powered Apogee drive water-block combined with a triple radiator, three fans and dual Stealth VGA coolers. This was done in order to make one bad ass liquid cooled super system based on NVIDIA’s SLI platform. As you can see from the results we were able to overclock our 3.0GHz QuadCore X6850 to 4.0GHz without any warranty voiding mods or outlandish voltage increases. What started out as a team effort here was soon commandeered and taken hold of by Capt. Ahab Mr. Gabe Rouchon himself and he did us proud in the end result. This system is completely cool running with a Quad Core overclocked CPU and dual EVGA 8800 Ultra cards in an SLI configuration. The results of the VGA cards were a bit whacked as we had to exchange one of our cards and the clocks were different on the new card. This delays our ultimate SLI review, but the cooling system that we used was quiet, efficient and as you can see from the CPU results alone sufficient for major overclocking. I recently took a look at the Vengeance system being sold by Smooth Creations for $7250.00 and it is a joke compared to this system that Gabe and company could bring to the table for $4000.00.

Swiftech Apogee Ultimate Liquid Cooling Kit Review

Many system integrators offer so-called gaming systems, fewer offer liquid cooled system, and damn few less offer really viable and performance oriented liquid cooled systems in any instance. This system could be the prototype for a new line of Swiftech systems to be offered in the near future and this cooling system to possibly become the Apogee Ultimate Kit. That way if you want to go all out with your system cooling you can just buy a nice shiny new kit and have at it. On the surface liquid cooling may seem a bit daunting or intimidating, but in reality all the Swiftech kits are user oriented for anyone who is mechanically inclined and can read a manual. I have found that I have gone from a home user, to overclocker, to hardware guru and then on to a being a system mechanic with so many advances in system cooling. Nowadays if you want to be on top of the game you need to be not only software and hardware savvy, you need to be able to be like old school custom car builders with the flexibility of on spot integration and modification. Swiftech did all the hard work of engineering, designing and producing the components needed for a top quality liquid cooling system. The results are in, and the results are very good, Swiftech makes cooling products for the serious user, not the meek of heart and they perform serious as well. This cooling system deserves to be the called Swiftech Apogee Ultimate Kit as it excels in every way. We would like to formerly thank EVGA for providing the 680i SLI motherboard and 8800 Ultra BP Edition cards used in this build, Intel for the CPU, as well as CoolerMaster for providing the PSU and case. Thanks guys!
