The battle rages on between who will win the platform wars of the format of Blu-Ray versus HD and as prices on these devices becomes more appealing, the more the fight continues. NVIDIA comes to the table of course well prepared for whichever format wins as their Pure Video technology now fully supports them both. The NVIDIA PureVideo HD solution offers Dual-Link HDCP resolutions of up to 2560X1600, which currently the ATI solution does not support. Both HD and Blu-Ray players are coming down in price, but HD does seem to be coming in at a lower price point than Sony’s Blu-Ray by about 10-20 dollars depending on the vendor. Ben-Q will have a sub $200.00 internal Blu-Ray drive by Xmas of this year and that will be one hot commodity for a moment at least.
