3Dmark 06 is a gamers DirectX test platform for evaluation of both GPU and CPU performance levels and again can be on the fly compared to many different platforms and VGA cards. Again the Intel V8 shows slightly better scores that the AMD 4X4, not by a raging landslide, but only by a few hundred points. This test was also run in Windows Vista where it ran without flaw or error using the latest version. This test is also free in its non-professional version for end user comparisons. We ran the test at both its default 1280X1024 resolution and at the higher 1680X1050 Widescreen resolution.
