Intel Core2 Extreme QX6850 CPU Preview

As Intel introduces its latest weapon in its CPU arsenal the requirements mean a new motherboard will be in order to take advantage of both this new QX6850, but also the 45nm Penryn coming out in a few months from now. The Intel P35 Express Chipset supports new technologies such as 1333 MHz System Bus speed, next-generation 45nm dual- and quad-core processors, and DDR3 memory to deliver increased system bandwidth and improved performance. With built-in design headroom, Intel Fast Memory Access (Intel® FMA) and Intel Turbo Memory, platforms based on the Intel P35 Express Chipset. For Intel's immediate future the P3 series chipset will enable best-of-class performance. New Desktop PC platforms based on the Intel P35 Express Chipset, combined with either the IntelCore2 Duo or Intel Core2 Quad processor, deliver new technologies and innovative capabilities for enthusiasts and digital home consumers. Many motherboard manufactures will adopt this chipset into their lineup, as of now ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and Intel all have boards based on the new P35.
