Upon looking at the card the first thing you should notice about any 8800 GTX or Ultra card is that it is long, really long. There are instances where the card at 9.5" in length outstrips the end of a motherboard. Some boards have the SATA connectors situated in such a way as to block a connector or even two with the card. I've had cases that the card required a bit of finagling to fit, but haven't found a case the card would not fit in yet.
The cooler on the card is the standard 29-fin fan that has graced many a NVIDIA card over the years. The cooler covers the entire front of the PCB including the memory chips, the graphics chip and leaves just a little room for the two 6-pin power connectors on the card. The 8800 Ultra requires two 6-pin power adapters to be inserted to operate. The heatsink is similar in design to that of the 8800 GTX card, with the XFX card having a cool black heatsink color.
Memory speed on this card is absolutely blazing in clock speed. The 8800 Ultra XXX Edition card has a memory clock speed of 2.3GHz effective (1.15GHz actual). With a 384-bit memory bus that means this card has a memory bandwidth of 110.4GB/second, which is higher than NVIDIA's reference clock and higher than the spec sheet on XFX's site says. (The formula for memory bandwidth calculation is 384-bits/8-bits per byte x 2 (Double Data Rate memory) x 2.3 GHz= 110.4GB/second. After looking at the spec sheets, its clear XFX didn't update it to reflect the higher memory bandwidth of their XXX Edition card. The XFX 8800 Ultra XXX Edition has two DVI connectors and a TV-Out connection for the IO. The two DVI connectors can drive two Digital LCD monitors to a resolution of 2560x1600, i.e. perfect for two Dell 3007 LCD monitors, a LCD+analog monitor via the D-Sub adapter, or two analog monitors with included adapters.
