The AirPace Wi-Fi card is a PCI Express x1 compliant card. What that means is that the card cannot be installed on a PCI slot, but requires a PCI Express x1 or better slot as higher rated PCI Express slots are backwards compatible. The card is a full-height PCI Express x1 bracket, but the card itself is a little over 2 square inches in area.

The AirPace card is IEEE802.11b/g Wi-Fi compliant meaning that it can transfer data at up to 54 Mbps compared to 11 Mbps on 802.11b and 54 Mbps of 802.11a. 802.11g operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, compared to 5GHz of 802.11a and 2.4 GHz of 802.11b. The primary advantage of 802.11g is the ability to use non-LOS (Line of Sight) over 802.11a. One disadvantage of 802.11g over 802.11a is the use of the 2.4GHz frequency which is also used in microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices.

The abit AirPace Wi-Fi bundle comes with everything you need to get started with Wireless Networking. The Driver CD contains Windows XP and Vista drivers, simply install them from the autorun menu. The antenna attaches easily to the connection on the side of the bracket of the card.
