The second test system was the test system that AMD sent for their FX-74 review. The CPUs are two of the new FX-74 CPUs which are clocked at 3.0 GHz. The FX-74 is the answer to Intel's Quad Core CPU, but is two separate CPUs on the same motherboard instead of one CPU. The memory on the test system is 4GB of Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 memory that came with the test system. This memory is rated for 1067MHz speed and is EPP certified for use in SLI-Ready systems.
The system came with two of the new Western Digital Raptor SATA HDDs. These hard disks have 150GB of storage space with 16MB of cache. The hard disk drives we use for testing are the earlier versions, the 74GB Raptors, so these should be even better with 10000 RPM.
The Power Supply for the test system is a 1 Kilowatt PC Power and Cooling Power Supply. One of the primary concerns with the 8800GTX cards is power as two of them require a ton of power. The PSU is 8800GTX SLI Certified, which means NVIDIA has tested it with two of the 8800GTXs. Unlike with the other system, the system showed no problems running stably or inconsistency with the benchmarks.
