ASUS EN7900GS TOP Video Card Review

This card sports a lot of surprises for a 7900GS card. The performance of the card is on par with the slightly more expensive 7900GT reference card, and that is a good thing. The ASUS EN7900GS TOP is available on Newegg's website for $269, which is a bit pricey for the 7900GS, but typical of ASUS. The choice becomes what do you prefer, a 7900GT for $279, a X1900XT for $279 or the 7900GS TOP for $269. As a 7900GS card, this is the TOP one available (pun intended), but it also asks for a premium price.

As we get further into the next generation of video cards it is likely that the 7900GS and 7950GT and the other cards of the 7xxx series will be replaced by "next generation" equivalents. But today, cards like the 7900GS from ASUS offer excellent performance, a great feature set and are available in quantity. ASUS's bundle is top-notch and along with the extra overclock that the TOP offers, makes this a Hot Product award as it overclocks well, and outperforms other 7900GS cards on the market.
