ATI TV Wonder 650 TV Tuner Review

AMD's merger announcement two months ago with ATI has sent reverberations throughout the computer industry for many years to come. AMD adds ATI's expertise with graphics, mobile graphics, TV tuners, motherboard chipsets and more. One area where ATI brings to the table that AMD currently has nothing is the television tuner chipsets.

ATI has had TV tuner cards for a long time. The first ATI television tuner was the ATI TV. This was a tuner designed for the time when Windows 98 was just released. Other TV cards have included the TV Wonder, the Xcclaim TV for the Mac, the HDTV Wonder and the various All In Wonder cards which combined the TV tuner with a regular video card. The tuner I'm reviewing today is ATI"s newest TV tuner, the TV Wonder 650.
