In order to get as close to an apple to apple comparison form AMD to Intel platforms in this review we stuck with Asus nForce 4 motherboards, Corsair XMS2 1066Mhz memory, XFX 7900GTs and an Ultra 600W PSU. Beyond the CPU the chipsets are the same as are the other parts of these two systems. We have added a few new tests to our lineup including SuperPi and SpecviewPerf 9.0 to give a more balanced test platform, and with our original tests plus these I think we have found a solid middle ground for defined testing.
We also take into consideration the users point of view as well as the user experience in day to day tasking on the PC as well as how hot it runs and how stable. All tests are run a ridiculously three times and then balanced out for a better rounded score. We do this as sometimes a PC runs a bit faster or slower and this balances the score out a bit and makes it closer to what is an accurate score. These tests took an extraordinary amount of time and are really time consuming procedures that eventually lead to a good performance overview. We did include the test results for Intel's 975 Motherboard as it also supported the new Conroe CPUs.
