As always the top of the line CPU is priced at around $1000.00, this has been the case since the early Pentium days and I remember buying my first Pentium 100 for $999.00 back in the mid 90's. Many will balk at the price, but after seeing the wheel go around and around I have gotten used to this price bracket for the hottest CPU currently available, and not I am not offended or put off by the price. Face it, you want the best, you pay a premium price, it's not rocket science and it's not unusual either. Their highest price point is however is currently lower than that of AMD's highest with their FX62, which is selling for a few hundred bucks more at around $1200.00 US. The price war will be on later this quarter, so expect prices in both camps to drop by summers end. This will be good for the end user as we benefit from any price reduction.
