The E6700 Core Duo is the next best thing in the Intel lineup, and from a price point angle probably the better deal of the two CPUs as it costs hundreds less than its rivaling big brother the X6800 Extreme. The E6700 Duo has Dual 2.66GHz CPU technology, again 4MB of L2 Cache and runs at a 1066MHz FSB, which beyond Core speed is exactly like the X6800 Extreme. This is the CPU that everyone is going to be talking about, the hard-core enthusiasts will want the X6800, but everyone else in the Intel camp will want an E6700 as the price is around $500.00.
