Ah, the fresh scent of new thinking, and exotic ideas. The usage of technology and the construction of amazing units. This is all I have ever heard about Scythe. With what had to have been the most overclocked PCs in one booth at Computex - let alone the most air cooled ones, Scythe was continually running anime flicks throughout the day, while benchmark results showed up on the other portion of the screen. The reason? People are more interested in a movie than benchmarks, and if it's stable enough at this speed to watch the same film for days on end, well, that brings a good impression for your products, now doesn't it.
Unlike the other manufacturers, Scythe has a tremendous advantage. Not only are their goods finely engineered, but they also have access to exclusive heat lane technology, that works damn well. Poking from the back of one of the machines, a standing structure of aluminum was keeping a 7800GT positively frosty with little load - so cold, that fingers on the board's rear left no soreness. This technology has been intended to extend to an SLI or crossfire cooler too, but at the current time, the mounting methodology is very poor, so they are still a while off of market.
In addition to heatsinks like the Ninja, Scythe produces a wide range of fans, coolers, and even power supplies. Unfortunately, it just detracts from the insanely fast machines above when you look down, and see about 100 different choices awaiting you. On the plus side, with their lengthy experience in cooling, Scythe is bound to have something up their sleeves and around the engineering corner. For the mean time, though, the potential to silently cool your videocard is one hell of an appealing one, but only at the cost of mobility.
