Draw:
Xfinity 500W 247W: PF .67 - VA 362
Xfinity 500W w/PFC 241W: PF 1 - VA 248
Curiously, the Active PFC (or as we refer to it, PFC) feature makes little difference in terms of voltage regulation and stability, as well as in terms of current draw (though, a 6W savings was found here). The true area of gain for this technology at this point appears to be in its VA (Volt-Amps) draw. In essence, this gain means but one thing - the power supply may draw the same amount of current on average, but it's maximum demands are far less than those of it's unregulated brother. After all, there is an 80 point drop in the maximum current, measures in VA, is there not?
