 3 cards
High end video card testing requires a high-end system to test it on. After all, if you're going to spend $500+ on a video card you're not likely to have a AMD Duron CPU, 256MB of memory and a SIS based chipset motherboard. In that vein, our test system for video cards is still relevant, as a FX-57 is the fastest single-core AMD CPU, 2GB of RAM is sufficient for every use and 2 250GB hard drives is enough storage space for anyone. With the addition of 3 new video cards to the lineup, I decided to include cards that are either the direct competition (x1900XTX), or equivalent in the performance charts. You'll notice the inclusion of performance scores from a reference 7900GT; this was the EVGA 7900GT downclocked to 450/660.
