As with all of Swiftech's goods in their time, the blocks look great and perform just as well. Considering that GPU temperatures could be kept so low, even when the CPU was being clocked upward dumping heat into the loop, we can really see the Apogee design hard at work here, showing its best side in a moment's flash. That being said, there are some issues to address with this trio of blocks. The first being the mounting plate on the apogee. One would think having 1/8" holes and 1/8" screws is a good idea. It's not. If we really wanted to see the water block go down on the Intel setup, we would have needed a hammer. The solution? Six holes stretched to 9/64" allowed for the block to slide smoothly on and off the mounts, making for much easier mounting and removal. The second issue is that of the barbs. Unless tied down to a point near insanity (as they should be from the beginning, but still), there is the potential to have dripping barbs on the MCW60 block. You can of course take simple preventative measures here - tie off the barbs with a little Teflon tape, then really bolt them down tight. With those two issues fixed, our experience with the Apogee and its children was absolutely wonderful. Adding more blocks to the loop barely took anything out of the flow, and only caused temperatures to rise 1-2 degrees Celsius, and that's while keeping the targets well chilled too! While we may not have seen too much growth on the GPU side of clocks, that can be attributed to a card at its limit, and without voltage modifications, one that will remain at this limit. It still was nice to have it running cool and quietly, at less than half the usual temperatures with a significant (100MHz) over clock though! Thus, in the end, if you're in the market for a trio of new water blocks, give the Apogee, MCW30 and MCW60 a good, hard look. Products of this caliber don't come along often, especially at this price point.
