The 6600 256MB card is a mainstream card retailing for $129 USD and found on Newegg for $117 at the time this review was written. At that price point, the performance and features of the card is most closely related to the ATI X1300 Pro from ATI. In a direct comparison of the X1300 Pro to the 6600, the 6600 has better overall performance, while ATI has the better Anisotropic filtering quality.

To my mind, the 6600 256MB is the perfect upgrade for the casual gamer that is tired of using integrated graphics. The inclusion of a game like Far Cry which can showcase the features like Pixel Shaders and HDR on the 6600 make this a good bundle for this price range. XFX has done an excellent job with the 6600, with a default overclock of 450MHz for the core and 800MHz for the memory it's the best of the cards available.

XFX Support is pretty good. Their Double Lifetime Warranty support program is unique in the industry, meaning that the card has a Lifetime Warranty even if the ownership of the card changes once. They also offer Toll-Free Technical Support 24/7. The only real thing they could do to improve is offer a trade-up program to the latest card, but that's expecting a bit much, as only one or two companies offer a program for that purpose.
