XFX, pronounced X Effects, is one of the key players in the VGA world today selling millions of dollars of product worldwide and the major seller in the South-American VGA market, which is currently growing exponentially. In America NVIDIA has two strong partners in XFX and EVGA, and they also work with BFG as well, there are others for sure, but they are not in the top selling group of companies associated with NVIDIA's name.

Recently XFX added an entire new team dedicated to customer service, which is great for end-users. It's been awhile since I wrote a little ditty like this as my focus has been in other areas of the site, but last week I decided to take a little trip out to Ontario California to visit Ryan Dumas at the So-Cal office of XFX. Ryan said there were some pretty cool things to look at and that their building was unique. After that, well my interest was up and off I went down the lovely traffic packed highway in mid-day congestion to check out what was really under the XFX roof. After an hour of driving, I finally arrive at my destination, which was a huge and fashionable industrial park in the outskirts of O town. From the outside the XFX building looked much the same as the others in the vicinity, but once I walked inside, it was like walking into a NVIDIA club house. You know that lime green color we all familiarize with NVIDIA, well the entire office was painted in that color and it is pretty striking in person.

Having a serious hold on the gaming market due to SLI technology has been a key factor in VGA sales in the last year, and building an SLI system totally belongs to the NVIDIA camp in the current PC scene. Will this change? Not likely, as NVIDIA is not going to share their Lions den of market share with anyone if they can help it. ATI has finally launched their CrossFire platform to the general public and Intel claims to support it on their new 975 chipset, but is it to late to really grab the attention of gamers? I guess will have to wait and see as the jury is still out on that one. XFX currently uses the XXX name-branding scheme that will soon become a name recognized for their High-End VGA solutions. We have reviewed many of their products in the past, but none was as cool looking and visually appealing as the 7800 XXX series with its sleek black PCB and green LED lights that showoff the XFX name and heatsink. This is not the top of the line card from these folks, but it sure packs a punch, especially in SLI mode. Let's take a closer look at what their new 7800GT XXX edition has to offer the gamer and enthusiasts user; you might just like what you see!
