F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) is the latest game from Sierra Games (Monolith Studios). A First Person Shooter (FPS), F.E.A.R. takes a lot of video card and CPU power to run well. On XFX's card I was able to comfortably play the game at 1280x960 32-bit with 4x AA and 16x AF in single-player mode. The game looks, and plays awesome on the 7800GTX, especially if you set the quality settings to High-Quality mode.
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay is the latest game from Vivendi Universal. Released late last year and based upon the movie of the same name, Chronicles of Riddick is one of the first games to utilize Pixel Shader 3.0 effects in a game. On the 512MB 7800GTX I played the first few levels with 1280x1024 resolution 4x AA and 8x AF (16X AF seems to be a little sluggish for some reason.)
Half Life 2 Lost Coast is the latest demo from Valve Software. Based upon the Source Engine, HL2 LC adds support for HDR Lighting. The demo played wonderfully on the 512MB 7800GTX card, with no problems running 1280x1024 4x AA 16x AF. One thing about the engine is the ability to run in HDR mode with Antialiasing enabled. The 7800GTX is not able to use OpenEXR HDR+AA at the same time, but is able to use AA when HDR is enabled on the 7800GTX 512MB due to Valve's programming. Quake4 was the latest game released by iD Software, makers of the Doom and Quake series. A First Person Shooter in the vein of Quake2, Quake4 has been widely praised as a better game than Doom3 (except for Tulatin's review on www.Gamepyre.com ) XFX's card played the game with no problems at the maximum settings my monitor supports 1280x1024 32-bit 4x AA 16x AF in High Quality mode
