Today, NVIDIA is launching their newest video card chipset, the 7800GTX 512MB. While I'm reviewing XFX's card, I thought I would provide information on some of the other card manufacturers and their cards to give a sense of where XFX fits in on launch day with its competition.
EVGA sells NVIDIA video cards exclusively. Their standard 512MB 7800GTX will run at NVIDIA's reference clocks of 550MHz for the core and 1.7GHz for the memory. They differentiate their cards with two things, a Step-Up program, and a Lifetime Warranty. Their 7800GTX will come with a free copy of Call of Duty 2, the latest game available and a MSRP of $699 off their site.
BFG was started when the original Visiontek went bankrupt a few years ago. Today, they manufacture video cards based upon NVIDIA chipsets. Their 7800GTX offering will feature higher clocks 580MHz core/ 1.75GHz memory and features a Lifetime Warranty as well. Call of Duty 2 will be bundled with this card, making it an interesting choice.
